Intro
Graphic design, editorial design, and editing for my first photobook, which brings together ten years of my research with 35mm analog photography.

"Missing Body, Excess Body" a photobook produced in 2024, brings together a decade of the artist’s experimentation with analog photography. The work begins with a question of identity — the astonishment of discovering oneself as only one in the world and the difficulty of sustaining oneself as a being defined by lack. Human and non-human figures dissolve within a continuous play of integration and differentiation. Landscape-characters and body-landscapes reveal a process of being that is open and porous: we are not alone, we are not singular; the world we inhabit also inhabits us.

The graphic design and image sequencing materialize a tension. The photographs are arranged to create a continuous and circular chromatic flow through a leporello binding. The steel cover, produced by the artist together with his father, a metalworker, reinforces this ambivalence. The same element capable of protecting can also imprison. The work was selected for the photobook open call of the ZUM Festival 2024 and exhibited at the Instituto Moreira Salles from November 2024 to February 2025, as well as at the Tiradentes Photography Festival in 2025.
